It should have been so easy.
When the Arroyo Grande city manager shared with the mayor the incident on July 3 that involved five police officers, he should have asked the city manager for his keys, escorted him to his office to get his personal belongings, and told him to go home and that he would be notified of the City Council’s decision after an investigation ensued. He should have placed him on administrative leave.
Mr. Mayor, you made a mistake. When I make a mistake, I apologize to those I hurt and hope to correct my error. It is time to admit you have made a mistake.
The citizens of Arroyo Grande and especially the Arroyo Grande Police Officers Association are waiting for your apology.
