What happened to the promise of a South County Cuesta College campus? Why are there plans for revamping current campuses and not to serve students in South County?
Many South County students drive to Alan Hancock because it’s closer. It seems the main campus serves out-ofarea students and not as many local students. What is wrong with this picture?
There is land in Arroyo Grande on the south end of the city and on the Mesa where a campus could go. Cuesta needs to stop trying to compete with Cal Poly and serve the area residents. Let other community colleges serve their local students. Nipomo is a growing community in South County. With a new small high school just built, there will be more students needing a local community college.
I won’t support Measure L unless it includes plans for a South County campus.
