The Board of Directors of Friends of Prado Day Center would like to thank United Way of SLO, as well as all the many individual and corporate sponsors of the “Make Change Count” parking meter program, for designating us as the first recipient of proceeds from the Directed Giving Donation Station program. These parking meters accept donations to support homeless services in our community.
Special thanks to the participants on the Directed Giving Campaign committee: the SLO Police Department, the Community Development Department, the Parking and Parks and Recreation departments, and the Downtown Association for working together to get the meters installed and publicized. Thanks also to the individuals and groups who sponsored the individual meters: Mayor Jan Marx, the Copeland family, Mary Parker and Dee Torres, the Rotary Club of SLO Daybreak and the Wineman Building.
And finally, thanks to Dignity Health and the county board of supervisors for major financial support and educational materials.
We are grateful to all of you for making this program a reality, and for entrusting the first proceeds with us.
