I have an idea. Let’s build a large nuclear waste dump right in the middle of our coastal communities, one that contains extremely poisonous radioactive waste that must be maintained and guarded for literally tens of thousands of years. For good measure, let’s build this toxic dump right in the middle of several active earthquake faults. Then let’s get the company that owns this dump, a company that is making huge profits off of its operation, and which, incidentally, was recently fined over a billion dollars for criminal negligence, to hire their own people to create a report reassuring us that their plant is “completely safe.”
On second thought, let’s not.
