Victor Davis Hanson’s assertion (Aug. 28) that President Barack Obama believes in a predetermined history is completely unsubstantiated. Hanson uses some phrases that Obama has used to “prove” his assertion.
His statement deserves to be treated as only a somewhat more sophisticated product of the far-right propaganda-machine making assertions that the president isn’t really an American citizen or is secretly a Muslim.
People can certainly disagree with the president on various issues, but whatever happened to the concept of the loyal opposition?
Never miss a local story.
Those who disagree with the president can also recognize that the people have given the president the authority to sort through all the various factors and make the concrete moral decisions that Hanson refers to.
