I just finished reading Leonard Pitts’ commentary (A 9-year-old, an Uzi and American exceptionalism, Aug. 31). I could not agree more. I marvel that more letters have not appeared in the paper following the recent front-page articles: one showing a jubilant Richard Martinez rejoicing over the passing of a California gun reform bill (AB 1014) appearing right above an article on the accidental death of an Arizona man killed by a 9-year-old little girl shooting an Uzi on a gun range. What a tragic irony. All I can say is, “Congratulations American gun owners; you have now reached the epitome of insanity.” As a country, have we had enough yet?
