I’d just like to make a comment on the trouble Sjany de Groot is having now with the state Department of Public Health. It seems they are intent on putting Sjany out of business.
She has selflessly served these, and countless more, medically fragile children for 35-plus years that, in many cases, no other facility would take. I have visited Sjany’s home many times, and never have I seen the facility unkempt in any way. The children have always been clean and well cared for, and most importantly, loved and treated as her own. This is what she calls these special children, “her kids.”
Is this the kind of treatment they could hope for in a state institution? I think not! I have a feeling they wouldn’t last very long in such an environment. Sad to say, maybe this is what the state, in reality, really hopes to accomplish. And, if that’s the case, it is truly shocking.
Sjany needs our help and our prayers on her behalf. An outpouring of letters and help from this community is urgently needed.
