I see a possibility of a public relations win here for some company/person. Sjany de Groot, other than to the state inspectors and whoever is pulling their strings, has a stellar reputation for taking care of these kids that, to be perfectly frank, are basically unwanted/outcast by our society.
How about one of our wealthier individuals or companies step up and either pay for the modifications needed to her home, or get some sort of philanthropy going and just pick it all up? Win-win, all the way around.
After all, if some guy can pony up $2 billion for a weak basketball team, 1 percent of that would build a pretty nice place; heck, half of 1 percent would still be plenty, but without the ego part of owning a pro sports team.
I guess that might be too much to ask though.
