Marissa Chavez speaks of water conservation in her April 28 letter, “Use water wisely.” While a good plan, conservation is a double-edged sword. Our water customers found that out during the drought of the mid-’70s. They conserved so well that we had to raise the rates to pay the bills.
The real problem is those in charge continually approving more homes, businesses, wineries, etc. when there is not enough water for those already established. Talk about putting the cart before the horse.
I understand that in my area more homes have been approved, and a friend told me that another golf course is in the works. Really? Does anybody in charge have any sense? Please, look up moratorium in the dictionary.
