If my recent experience walking the dog in Monterey Heights is anything to go by, the current response to the prohibition of drinking games at fraternities is to move them into private homes. The number of crushed beer cans and broken bottles, lower for a couple years now, is way up, and new beer pong tables are showing up every weekend. Enforcement of the laws is compliance-based. Direct your complaints to the police and city, rather than to your friends and relatives.
Then, recognize how wonderful the great majority of your student neighbors are. Don’t let a minority of inconsiderate individuals overshadow the hard-working, thoughtful, idealistic majority . Get to know them. We’re in this together. Let’s make it work.
