Even if I agree that Peter O’Toole was equal in acting skill to Joan Fontaine, the fact is The Tribune gave O’Toole 10 times as much ink as Fontaine. She also starred in iconic films such as “Rebecca,” “Suspicion” and many others during a career that spanned over 50 years. Perhaps it was she who helped launch Hitchcock’s success.
In any case, you fail to address why The Tribune didn’t provide equal coverage of these two celebrated actors when they both died on the same day. I continue to believe the reason for this is gender bias.
