I had to chuckle when I read the small print on the back of the Smart and Final ad in the Oct. 25 issue of The Tribune. It says the ad applies only to their stores in Santa Rosa, Rancho Palos Verdes, Lakewood, Lake Forest and Arroyo Grande.
Of course, most Tribune readers know the location of Arroyo Grande and perhaps shop there. But the other listed locations are a whopping, collective 1,000 miles from San Luis Obispo.
I doubt many people in those communities subscribe to The Tribune. It appears the S&F marketing strategy is not very Smart and, hopefully, not Final.
