On behalf of the Atascadero Community Band, we would like to thank the Kiwanis Club of Atascadero and architect Mark Dariz for an absolutely superb job of remodeling the Atascadero Lake Park Bandstand (soon to be inaugurated as the Centennial Bandstand).
The Bandstand now has the presence of a deliberate and purpose-built structure. It is more pleasing to the eye, and much more functional for the players — the music is directed to the crowd as honestly as it is played.
These sentiments are echoed from musicians and concertgoers alike. The additional room allows welcome space to spread out. The acoustics not only allow the musicians to hear each other better, but more instruments reach the audience with crisp accuracy. The improved lighting floods the stage, but is nicely indirect for the audience.
And, as part of the beautiful Lake Park, the quality of the Bandstand represents the community to both residents and visitors. The community can be proud to showcase this renovation.
Never miss a local story.
Come, listen and judge for yourself the quality of the venue. The Band will be playing at the Bandstand inauguration ceremony on Oct. 20, starting at 11 a.m.
