I used to feel exactly like Allan Deshon (expressed in his July 22 letter “Slow work in Paso”). I also wrote several letters to The Tribune criticizing the city of Paso Robles on street conditions.
I wanted answers. Our streets were a mess.
Soon, I would find out who was in charge and call them or email them with my issues and questions. They always called me back or emailed me with the answers I asked about. I also started going to City Council meetings twice a month. A wealth of information is gained there on the agenda and on how our City Council votes on them.
The 13th Street Bridge repair is a job being done by Caltrans, not our city. Our city applied for a grant, and state run Caltrans is doing the job.
Never miss a local story.
May I suggest you pick up the phone or send an email to anyone from the city manager to the mayor to the directors? You will find them all informative and responsive. Don’t get frustrated, get informed like I did.
