What happens when a whistleblower attempts to avoid facing the music his whistling has begun?
In the worst case, Edward Snowden will remain a fugitive from U.S. justice for the rest of his life — in limbo at a Russian airport, or in Ecuador or some other country that does not extradite to the U.S.
And what kind of life might that be? He does not appear to bring artistic or other special skills with him. He has blown his cover for any espionage work. Will anyone ever trust him? His life will probably be very restricted. He may eventually long for the freedoms of the USA.
