A week ago last Friday, about 5:30 p.m., my wife and I were shopping at Von’s in Nipomo. We were in the produce section, and, as usual, I was pushing a grocery cart. In maneuvering the cart, I started to back up, lost my balance and fell over backwards, landing on my backside, somewhat stunned and embarrassed. I do have Parkinson’s, but the market basket had always worked well in the past — not this time.
When I fell, shoppers and Von’s employees —all strangers to me — responded by immediately coming to my aid. They were all so kind and caring. One shopper happened to be a doctor and checked me out. I was put on an electric cart and taken to my car. Our groceries were brought to the car and loaded in. A lady shopper had checked out our groceries and paid for them; even including a gift card.
God bless you.
