The Anti-Defamation League San Luis Obispo Advisory Committee thanks President Jeffrey Armstrong and Cal Poly for hosting the second annual No Place for Hate reception at Chumash Auditorium on May 22, 2013. The event was a celebration of the 30 schools in our county who participated in the No Place for Hate initiative.
Each year, students complete at least three anti-bias or diversity appreciation projects with their school to become a designated No Place for Hate community. Reception attendees viewed art projects as well as watched student skits, songs, poems and videos.
As co-chair of the ADL San Luis Obispo Advisory Committee, I can say that we are proud to have strong local partners in the SLO County Office of Education, the Friday Night Live program and YMCA after-school programs. We applaud President Armstrong’s dedication to promoting inclusivity and diversity at Cal Poly. The local ADL Advisory Committee’s outreach efforts are focused primarily on Education and Incident Reporting, in support of the ADL Santa Barbara Tri-Counties Region.
In its centennial year, ADL is proud to partner with Cal Poly to strengthen our community.
Never miss a local story.
