In response to Cindy Anderson’s June 16 letter, “Let Mason Move Forward,” I applaud her spirit of forgiveness for Mr. Mason. I wonder if she would extend that same feeling to other occupations.
Let’s say an elementary school teacher who, while drunk, beat another person nearly to death and fled the scene. Would you allow that teacher to resume teaching our children? How about a social worker or a police officer? Lack of a conviction does not mean Mr. Mason did not inflict grievous harm on another. I hope your forgiving nature would be unconditional.
