I support the development of the Spanish Springs project as it is unveiled through the efforts of the developer and the concerned residents of Pismo Beach. This site is under the sphere of influence of the city of Pismo Beach and has been anticipated to be developed in their General Plan. Although the project is a large development, the way it is presented is truly smart growth. It will bring TOT (transient occupancy tax) revenue, sales tax revenue, property tax revenue, positive commerce into our area and help the city and county meet growth mandates in addition to help facilitate funding of the infrastructure improvements that are badly needed.
One of the purposes of my letter is to sincerely request your support in making sure the ingress and egress onto Price Canyon from the 101 freeway is a primary concern for the county and Cal Trans.
If it is completed in the early phase of the project, I believe this will create a significant benefit, not just for the residents of Pismo Beach, but everyone in San Luis Obispo County who uses Price Canyon Road as their primary transit, as well as all the businesses on Highway 227 and East Broad Street in San Luis Obispo.
