The president of the board, Mr. Walt Millar, stated in the article “unless there is some significant reason for us to support a program that is substantially different/better, then it is really contrary to the district’s initiatives.”
Really? You would oppose a Blue Ribbon Award-winning school? You would oppose a school where people are clearly choosing to attend? Where there is a waiting list? You would oppose a school that is working to attain the school initiatives that you supported?
The San Luis Coastal Unified School District mission states: “The District guarantees to provide the highest quality programs and services which will give all individuals the opportunity to realize their full intellectual, physical, creative, emotional and social potential”.
You want someone to “show you what the school is supposedly doing.” As an elected board member, please go to Teach and find out.
