Having served the citizens of Grover Beach for more than 17 years (1974-1991), I am well aware of how difficult it is to provide the services that are desired. These services range from filling potholes to providing police officers.
This has been made even more difficult as the state has unilaterally taken funds from sources that were available to the city. To date, the amount taken exceeds $7 million, and the taking continues. How many more police services and filled potholes could have resulted from these funds?
Measure I-12 will not solve all of the city’s problems, but it is a good beginning. Nor does Measure I-12 create the issues described in the mailers and letters by those opposed to the proposition.
I have read the complete proposition, and it will help our city save local funds to be spent on things to benefit local citizens and projects. I urge you to read the proposition, which is on the city’s website. I also urge you to join me in a yes vote.
