The proposed Laetitia development is wrong on many levels. There is not enough water, plain and simple. The bogus numbers the developer is using are from 2010 — predrought!
In 2010, my well was producing fine. This year, it went dry. We redrilled deeply (expensive) and have water, but it’s not reliable, and the quality is terrible. We live adjacent to Laetitia, and our neighbors have all experienced dry wells and/or severe production problems. Several are without water.
The roads cannot handle the proposed traffic. It is dangerous as is and will produce disastrous consequences if allowed.
Laetitia proposes hiding their wastewater holding ponds such that their residents won’t see or smell them.
Never miss a local story.
Trouble is, it is literally just yards from my back door and is upwind and visible for several of my neighbors and me. That burden is oppressive, and the wastewater project should be denied.
I signed up to live next to an agricultural application. I put up with tractors running 24/7, spraying, the harvest throughout the night with incredibly bright lights shining in my bedroom. I did not sign up to live next to an industrial application. What about my property rights? This entire proposal is unconscionable.
