I was pleased to see the Rev. Lyle Grosjean’s letter (Letters, “Doing the right thing,” Aug. 30).
As a Unitarian Universalist myself, I am pleased that the San Luis Obispo Unitarian Universalist Fellowship displayed the “Black lives matter” banner and wrote the letter supporting its importance.
However, I am constantly perplexed at how we are brutally torturing and killing billions of sentient beings every minute of every day for our eating pleasure — a fact which is virtually ignored by our spiritual leaders.
Whether we realize it or not, this continual denial has a spiritual cost.
Never miss a local story.
Educate yourself, speak up for animals, stop eating them and you will feel the difference.
