I realize that the Laetitia Vineyards and Winery and the cluster of high-end homes it plans to build would bring new money into the community, but there is a serious and sad price to be paid for these dollars.
The beautiful Los Berros Creek and valley would be deprived of the water that sustains it.
Family homes and small farms would be devastated.
Laetitia says there is plenty of water. They would be well-supplied. But the groundwater would be taken from the wells of Los Berros residents, many of whom have owned their property for generations.
Never miss a local story.
This situation presents great injustice and heartbreak to the Los Berros homeowners. It also threatens the lovely rural atmosphere that we all hold dear.
