As a Los Osos resident and regular shooter, I was at first glad to see First Defense Firearms open a shop in Los Osos.
How great to have a local shop where I could get ammo and shooting supplies.
But I’m beginning to wonder whether some of their practices might be a little too confrontational.
Specifically, prominently displaying the Second Amendment on their front window. I don’t question their right to do so, but it will only serve to inflame the opposition.
And quoting Ms. Sara Kelly’s statement out of context is completely unacceptable. Ms. Kelly has a right to her opinion and is owed an apology.
Any business — whether a gun store or a lollipop shop — should make an effort to be a good neighbor and cultivate goodwill. I would like to see more of that from First Defense.
