Thanks so much to Thomas Keating for mansplaining to me that he thinks the heavily edited Planned Parenthood attack videos really depict “selling human body parts from aborted fetuses” and “federal law seems to make this illegal.” (“Revise in order,” Letters, Aug. 10). He also attempted to explain the fine points of debate while putting quotation marks around words I didn’t write and trying to shove them into my mouth. He also wanted to give me a chance to read a column by conservative, anti-choice pundit Kathleen Parker so I can revise my opinion to match hers.
Condescend much, Mr. Keating?
The Massachusetts attorney general just investigated the practices of Planned Parenthood in her state to determine compliance with the law and found “no evidence that Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts is involved in any way in the buying or selling of tissue.” The Indiana Department of Health just did the same and “has concluded there was no evidence of this type of activity at these sites.”
Mr. Kincaid was concerned that I may not have the facts or the law on my side. I’m sure he’ll be glad to know I have both.
