Since the series of articles and letters about the difficulties Haggen grocery stores have had in the San Luis Obispo market, the store where I shop, on Johnson Avenue, has been pretty empty. I want to tell everyone that prices are noticeably down, the shelves are well-stocked, the store is sparkling clean, and the in-store Starbucks puts out used coffee grounds for gardeners and vermiculture enthusiasts. (That would be me.)
It would be a shame to once again lose a market in that location. It is in all our best interests to have Haggen succeed. I urge my neighbors and former shoppers to give Haggen another chance. You will be pleasantly surprised. By the way, I have no financial interest in Haggen stores or Starbucks.
