Tom Fulks (“Political circus doesn’t stop at Donald Trump,” Viewpoint, Aug. 2), you’re an odd one to be standing up against perceived enemy forces in the community, while busy behind the scenes developing strategies to lessen public objection to disfunction by your elected candidates, San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors members Bruce Gibson and Adam Hill.
The current board clearly has chosen to not be railroaded by the questionable Gibson/Hill agendas.
The comparison of public speakers at the Tuesday Board of Supervisors meetings to the Donald Trump circus is a demeaning insult to what occurs at the public comment portions of the weekly meeting.
It is certainly not overattended, mostly valid issues are brought up and civility is the norm. You exaggerate the nastiness. Passion does look hostile when you don’t want to hear it.
You would have us believe that your golden boys Gibson and Hill are being assailed by progrowth, pro-waste, ultraconservative supervisors and their supporters with evil corporate-loving agendas. I don’t see it.
Fulks, please stop the mean-spiritedness. Public debate is healthy, if you can’t take the heat, find a better fan.
