I was a small-town girl growing up in Morro Bay during the ’50s and ’60s and fortunate to have been a student of Mr. Botso Korisheli’s.
Words cannot adequately convey the full impact this man had on my life and those of so many of my peers. He was a pillar of my upbringing. The lessons that he taught, the time he devoted to his students, the music that we children as bandmembers created under his baton!
I can still remember how amazing and uplifting it was to play in that fortunate group. He made me feel like my life mattered , and I will always be grateful. His legacy will live on in the thousands of lives he touched that will never be the same. And I am a better person for knowing Mr. Korisheli. Thank you.
