3rd Di strict

County firefighters have endorsed incumbent Jerry Lenthall in his race for re-election to the county Board of Supervisors in the 3rd District, citing his “experience and leadership.”

Firefighters chose Lenthall “because of his strong belief that public safety, especially emergency response, needs to be a top priority of county government,” the San Luis Obispo chapter of Cal Fire said in a news release.

“Jerry has demonstrated the ability to work with all groups and to find solutions, and has been a strong supporter of ... firefighter issues,” the chapter wrote.

Lenthall, running for his second four-year term, is opposed by Adam Hill, a Cal Poly lecturer and former president of the county Food Bank Coalition.

The election is June 3.

The 3rd District includes Pismo Beach, Grover Beach, Avila Beach and parts of San Luis Obispo.
