The Los Osos Community Services District Board of Directors heightened its water conservation measures after a Thursday meeting.
Residential households are restricted to using 174 gallons of water per day.
District customers now must follow guidelines that include the following: watering must occur between dusk and dawn; customers must refrain from using potable water to wash sidewalks, driveways, and walkways; they must stop washing their vehicles unless they have a shut-off hose nozzle; and they must not allow water to run off their property.
Also, use of district potable water for construction projects is prohibited, landscaping watering should be limited to 15 minutes, and use of water that results in run-off or flooding is prohibited.
Never miss a local story.
The board's move was based on the drought climate conditions.
