Central Coast students will show off their hand-built robots Sept. 29 at the Student Robotics Expo in San Luis Obispo.
More than 350 people are expected to attend the free event, which features demonstrations by local elementary school, high school and college robotics teams as well as robotics companies. In addition to Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara, participating Central Coast schools include Arroyo Grande High School, Atascadero High School, Mission Prep, Nipomo High School and San Luis Obispo High School.
Now in its sixth year, the Student Robotics Expo is produced by SOFTEC, The Central Coast Software and Technology Association. The nonprofit networking, advocacy and education organization has awarded more than $25,000 in cash grants to local high school robotics programs since 2004.
