Templeton High School celebrated 167 graduating students in a ceremony Wednesday night.
Most plan to stay in California to attend college while others are traveling to schools in Pennsylvania, Minnesota and as far away as Japan.
Templeton’s grads include 163 students and four exchange students. The valedictorian — Ashwini Sanjay Ganpule with a 4.46 GPA — plans to attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa. The salutatorians, both with 4.42 GPAs, are Ann Bernice Taylor, who will be attending Tokyo Christian University in Japan, and Grace Mae Tien Oi Pipes, who will be attending Carleton College in Northfield, Minn.
Three students told the school they plan to join the military, 16 said they were undecided, 13 will go to schools outside California and others said they plan to attend state universities, private colleges and community colleges.
Among those headed off to California schools: 25 reported plans to attend California State Universities including Cal Poly, Cal Poly Pomona, Chico, Fresno, Fullerton, Long Beach, Monterey Bay, San Francisco, San Jose and Sonoma, and 12 are headed to University of California campuses in Berkeley, Davis, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz.
