Cal Poly’s bachelor of architecture program was named No. 1 in DesignIntelligence’s rankings of the country’s top 20 architecture and design schools.
The program topped Cornell University, Rice University, University of Texas at Austin, and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University as the second- through fifth-place winners.
DesignIntelligence also ranked Cal Poly’s bachelor of landscape architecture program as fourth nationwide.
Associate Dean K. Richard Zweifel was recognized for his leadership, consistency and vision, which “have kept Cal Poly among the best education programs in multidisciplinary design professions,” according to a Cal Poly news release.
Architecture lecturer Brent Freeby was praised for pushing his students “to grow and learn at a high level,” according to the news release.
