Those who graduate with a bachelor’s degree earn an average median salary of $57,800 early in their career, while mid-career graduates earn an average of $99,500, according to the report.
The study assessed nine different majors/careers; Cal Poly graduates tied for fifth with Stanford University in the rankings for computer science, placed eighth in physical/life sciences and ranked 10th in communication/journalism.
The report was compiled based on surveys of full-time employees with five or fewer years of experience for the early-career category; mid-career data came from surveys of full-time employees with 10 years of experience or more.
On the full list for bachelor's-only graduates, consisting of more than 1,000 public and private universities, Cal Poly tied for 68th place with the University of Southern California.
