A 49-year-old Cambria man was arrested Wednesday after authorities allegedly found more than 600 images of child pornography on his home computer.
Christopher John Kehoe was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of possession and distribution of child pornography and possession of a controlled substance for sale.
About 7 a.m., detectives served a search warrant at a home on the 2500 block of Wilcombe Road after receiving a tip that child porn was being downloaded and distributed there, according to a news release from San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.
More than 600 images of children engaged in sexual acts were discovered on a computer at the home, according to the Sheriff's Office. However, it doesn't appear child pornography was being produced at the residence.
“The images appear to have been downloaded from the Internet and then distributed,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Tony Cipolla said in a statement.
Investigators seized additional computers and digital media from the home that also will be analyzed for child pornography. Detectives also found about 6 ounces of methamphetamine at the house, along with evidence of narcotics sales, Cipolla said.
Kehoe remained in custody in San Luis Obispo County Jail in lieu of $120,000 bail as of 5 p.m. Wednesday.
