A man allegedly pulled a box cutter on a grocery store employee in San Luis Obispo on Monday night before other workers were able to overpower him and hold him until police arrived,.
No one was hurt in the incident.
At about 7:13 p.m., police responded to a call from the Ralph’s grocery store in the 200 block of Madonna Road. According to a San Luis Obispo Police Department news release, Daniel Brady Marcom, 45, of San Luis Obispo was asked to leave by a clerk because he had been banned from the store for stealing alcohol.
Police said Marcom became upset, drew a box cutter from his pocket and brandished it at the employee.

That’s when police say several employees stepped in and were able to separate the blade from Marcom.
He was arrested on suspicion of exhibiting a deadly weapon and trespassing, both misdemeanors. As of Tuesday morning, he remained in San Luis Obispo County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
