A woman involved in a fatal head-on collision on Foothill Boulevard on Monday has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and manslaughter.
CHP officials say Jane Ann Upton, 52, of San Luis Obispo, was driving north on Foothill Boulevard north of O’Connor Way at about 2:15 p.m. Monday when her Toyota Prius collided with a Ford Escape driven by James Grant Snider, 86, of Los Osos.
The left front of the Toyota struck the left driver side of the Ford within the southbound lane, causing major damage to both vehicles, according to the CHP.
Both drivers were taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, where Snider was pronounced dead. Upton suffered major injuries in the crash.
