Following a tip, officers arrested a Grover Beach man on suspicion of possessing child pornography and trying to contact minors through social media.
At about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, Grover Beach police arrested 22-year-old Brandon David Holland after serving a search warrant at his residence on the 1300 block of Mentone Avenue.
The investigation started in May with an Internet Crimes Against Children tip to the Arroyo Grande Police Department, which began an investigation and later turned the case over to Grover Beach after determining Holland’s alleged crimes took place there.
Investigators from both agencies searched Holland’s residence, seizing several electronic items including a computer. A forensic search of the equipment revealed several hundred videos and images of young children involved in sexual acts, according to Grover Beach police.
Further investigation allegedly revealed that Holland was contacting young people online and attempted to contact juveniles through social media websites.
As of Tuesday afternoon, Holland remained in San Luis Obispo County Jail in lieu of $125,000 bail.
