Morro Bay police arrested a man Monday for allegedly shooting and killing his dog.
Around 6:15 p.m., police responded to reports of gunshots on Java Street in North Morro Bay.
When officers arrived, they found that two large dogs had been involved in a serious fight. The dogs’ owner, Stephen Griley, 60, allegedly attempted to separate the animals with the help of his adult daughter.
During the fight, the daughter allegedly suffered minor injuries when one of the dogs bit her.
