The Arroyo Grande Police Department announced Wednesday that four arrests have been made in a Feb. 2 assault and robbery in the South County that officials consider gang-related.
Police said the suspects are Luis Ramirez, 21, of Oceano; Richard Ceja and Matthew Hurtado, both 19 of Oceano; and Reyes Salto, 20, of Grover Beach.
The San Luis Obispo County Gang Task Force confirmed that all four suspects are known members of a criminal street gang, according to a news release.
Officials allege that the four assaulted and robbed a pedestrian at knifepoint in the 600 block of Elm Street in Arroyo Grande.
Hurtado was arrested Friday on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy and promoting a street gang; he was being held on $60,000 bail as of Wednesday morning. Ceja also was taken into custody on Friday but was no longer in jail Wednesday morning, according to jail records.
Ramirez was arrested Sunday and is being held for at least 10 days without bail on a probation hold. Salto was already in custody on an unrelated charge and is being held on $110,000 bail on suspicion of robbery and criminal conspiracy.
The San Luis Obispo County District Attorney’s Office will file felony charges of armed robbery, criminal conspiracy and promoting a street gang against all four, according to an Arroyo Grande Police Department news release.
On Friday, Arroyo Grande detectives and sheriff’s deputies served several search warrants at residences in Grover Beach and Oceano related to the case.
