Cal Poly police say a woman was assaulted on the second level of the Grand Avenue parking structure Tuesday night.
The victim was not sexually assaulted nor injured in the incident, according to an alert posted Wednesday by Cal Poly's University Police Department.
At approximately 8:30 p.m., a man approached the victim from behind and brought her to the ground, where she reportedly punched him before he fled the parking garage.
The assailant is described as a white male adult, approximately 6 feet tall and 190 pounds with short, curly brown hair. He was wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt.
As of late Wednesday afternoon, the university did not have any updates on the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call Cal Poly police at 756-2281.
