A woman who allegedly killed a pedestrian while texting and driving is expected to enter a guilty plea when she appears in court again March 6.
Marie Marguerite Coyner, 24, of Nipomo briefly appeared in court Thursday, but her hearing was postponed. She is charged with two felonies, involuntary manslaughter and hit-and-run causing death, for a November 2012 accident that killed Christopher Corey Tietjen, 24. Tietjen was walking on the right shoulder of Thompson Road in the dark when he was struck by a car.
Coyner drove off and did not report the accident, according to court records. Tietjen’s body was found the next morning.
