One Santa Margarita man was shot in the face and another arrested Saturday morning in Atascadero, according to a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office statement.
Nickolas John Gulley, 21, was shot about 6:20 a.m. on the 2200 block of Parkhill Road in Santa Margarita.
He was taken by private vehicle about nine miles to a Cal Fire station on the 6100 block of Parkhill Road, about one mile south of Highway 58.
Gulley was then taken by ambulance to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center in San Luis Obispo and finally by air transport to an unidentified Bay Area hospital. No update on his condition was available Saturday afternoon.

The suspected shooter left the scene in a vehicle with two other people, the statement said, and headed to a home on the 7600 block of Atascadero Avenue in Atascadero.
Steven Lee Gregge, 43, was arrested there about 8 a.m. by Sheriff’s Office personnel with assistance from state Fish and Wildlife officials, the Atascadero Police Department and a CHP helicopter.
Gregge was taken to County Jail, where he was booked on felony charges of attempted murder and threatening bodily injury.
His bail was set at $500,000.
The shooting was a result of a family dispute, according to the Sheriff’s Office statement, which added that it’s believed to be an isolated incident and no further suspects are sought.
Sheriff’s detectives, deputies, the gang task force and narcotics and K-9 units are continuing to investigate.
