The sentencing for a San Luis Obispo man charged with murdering his neighbor over a cell phone dispute was postponed Wednesday.
Edmund Nungaray, 60, previously entered a guilty plea to second-degree murder. According to court records, he strangled 46-year-old Dierdre Crowley on Sept. 29, 2012 after the two had argued over a cell phone Nungaray owned.
Nungaray’s plea calls for a prison term of 15 years to life.
Though he was supposed to be sentenced Wednesday, his attorney, Jay Peterson, asked for more time to prepare for the hearing.
His sentencing was rescheduled for October 23.
