Each day, dispatchers from the seven police departments in San Luis Obispo County take dozens of calls from residents seeking help for issues ranging from minor disputes to serious crimes. The Tribune provides coverage of serious crimes every day on its news pages. Here is alook at some of the other, more unusual calls as found in recent police logs from Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo.
Memory loss 8:41 a.m. July 11, 2000 block of Vine Street in Paso Robles.
A resident said someone stole his trailer sometime over the past week. The owner later called back to say he forgot he had loaned it to a friend.
False accusations 1:25 p.m. July 11, 180 Niblick Road in Paso Robles
A customer at Walmart told an employee at the front desk that she dropped cash while using the restroom and the woman from the neighboring stall took the cash. The customer believed she could point out the woman. The customer later checked her purse and found the money.
Help is on the way 2:33 p.m. July 11, 60 block of Terrace Hill Drive in Paso Robles
An alarm company called police to say an elderly woman used her Life Alert to say she needed assistance in opening a package. Officers opened the box.
How alarming 6:16 a.m. July 12, 1700 block of Miller Court in Paso Robles
A general alarm, hold-up alarm, fire alarm and medical alarm all went off at a residence. The alarm company said they had no more information, but three of the alarms were activated by pushing buttons on a panel. An officer arrived at the home and said it seemed secure. The owner of the home then called and said someone was installing a new system somewhere and entered his serial number, causing all the alarms to go off at the residence.
All natural 7:55 a.m. July 12, 8th and Pine streets in Paso Robles
Two juveniles by the bus station were “smoking something out of a fruit” and also had cigarettes. Officers checked on the boys, who admitted to smoking marijuana.
No stopping any time 11:51 a.m. July 12, Creston Road in Paso Robles
A driver was seen using an Opticon to change the signal lights. The strobe/Opticon was mounted in the passenger-side headlight.
Up to no good. Maybe. 2:23 p.m. July 12, Creston Road in Paso Robles
A woman said she was out running and saw an 18-year-old walking with a group of 12-year-olds. She said she felt the older boy should not have been walking with the younger boys, and that they may have been doing drugs. She had no basis for that accusation, however.
Streaking away 6:57 p.m. July 12, 50 Niblick Road in Paso Robles
Multiple people reported a man exposing himself. The man ran into the riverbed when officers arrived and left a pile of clothing behind.
I love trash 5:26 p.m. July 12, 828 14th St. in Paso Robles
A woman was in the dumpster, spreading trash.
Short-lived joy ride 1:44 a.m. July 13, 1100 Pine St. in Paso Robles
A person said they had left a drunken friend in the backseat of a car with the keys inside, and the vehicle was now gone. The vehicle was located near the fairgrounds with its lights on. The driver was passed out inside of it.
Door-to-door service 10:52 a.m. July 13, City Park in Paso Robles
Someone drove into the park and across the sidewalk and grass, stopping in front of the stairs at the Carnegie Library, where they dropped off a handicapped person. The driver then drove off across the sidewalk near the horseshoe pits. The driver had a near-miss with a pedestrian. Officers found the driver inside the library and told her not to drive in the park again. She was not happy.
Extra crispy 5:05 p.m. July 13, 514 Spring St. in Paso Robles
A woman said she fell asleep in the tanning bed and woke up to find the store locked. She set off the alarm and could not get out. A manager was able to get to the store and let the woman out.

Four longhorns were in the street.

A transient had been dancing around his backpack for two hours.
