A woman driving a stolen car led officers on a pursuit Thursday night from the Cuesta Grade to Pismo Beach, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Around 9:30 p.m., officers tried to stop Stephanie Victoria Montero, 26, for speeding on southbound Highway 101, CHP Sgt. Danny Koetsier said.
Montero briefly yielded for officers, then took off, leading them on a chase that ended about 20 minutes later after officers deployed a spike strip, Koetsier said. Montero exited the freeway in Pismo Beach and was arrested.
Montero was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of auto theft and receiving stolen property, both felonies, as well as evading officers and giving false information to an officer. She was being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
