A man claiming to have robbed two local banks turned himself in to police Tuesday.
Steven Daniel Celaya, 32, walked into the San Luis Obispo police station around 7 a.m. and said he had recently robbed banks in San Luis Obispo and Atascadero, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
Celaya was interviewed by investigators, who said the investigation has corroborated his account of the heists. Police also obtained a search warrant for his home, where they found evidence supporting his claim, according to police.
The Los Angeles office of the FBI has confirmed that they are cooperating with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing, according to police.
Celaya was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of robbery and is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail.
