A Fresno man was arrested in Morro Bay this week after allegedly breaking into cars near the Embarcadero.
Around 4 p.m. Monday, a citizen notified Morro Bay police officers that someone was trying to break into their car at the beach access parking lot at the north end of the Embarcadero, according to the Morro Bay Police Department.
Using a description of the burglar and his vehicle, officers found the suspect, 28-year-old Jose Vasquez-Zuniga, and three other men in a van parked near Morro Rock. Police said they found two specialized tools used to disable vehicle locks, as well as two cell phones and a laptop stolen from two vehicles in Morro Bay and one in the North County.
Vasquez-Zuniga was arrested on suspicion of three felony counts of burglarizing a vehicle and felony possession of burglary tools and booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail.
