A San Luis Obispo man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly trying to force his way into a woman's vehicle and then causing thousands of dollars of damage at a salon.
Police were first called to the 700 block of Marsh Street at 9 p.m. after a man was seen breaking windows at businesses, according to a news release from the San Luis Obispo Police Department. The man reportedly threw himself against several windows, but did not cause any damage.
The man, later identified as Samuel Dabill, 33, then allegedly approached a woman getting into her car and tried to force his way into the vehicle. She pushed him out of the car, according to authorities, and Dabill then headed toward the Bluebird Salon.
After overturning a couple of large pots in front of the salon, Dabill went inside and threw a glass shelf full of products on the floor, according to the news release. He continued throwing product, chairs and display items around the business.
All employees fled the salon and were not injured.
After causing a couple thousand dollars worth of damage, Dabill ran from the salon, according to the news release. Witnesses followed him and told officers where he was at.
Officers arrested Dabill on suspicion of burglary, false imprisonment and felony vandalism. He was booked into County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
